Mumbai, April 17: The Maharashtra unit of Karnataka Janapada Parishat Bengaluru celebrated Janapada arts festival at Bantara Bhavana, Kurla East on April 16. Bunts Sangha Mumbai president Chandrahas K Shetty set the programme in motion.
The programme was presided over by the unit president Dr R K Shetty. Tulu Koota Baroda president Shashidhar B Shetty was the chief guest. President of St Agnes high school Mira Road, Dr Arunodaya S Rai was the guest of honour.
The unit honorary chief secretary Ashok Pakkala, honorary treasurer Ganesh G Naik, joint treasurer Kusuma C Poojary, ladies wing president Anita U Shetty, cultural division president Srinivas Safalya and other office bearers were on the dais.
Unit executive committee members, advisory committee members and members were present. Well known art groups of Maharashtra performed Janapada dances, local dances and specially invited artists performed various Janapada comedy skits.
Prashanti Shetty sang a prayer. Srinivas Safalya welcomed and gave an introduction. Office bearers honoured the guests. Karnur Mohan Rai introduced the guests and compered the programme. The unit celebrated their first anniversary after the cultural programme.
