Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School holds Ambedkar Jayanthi celebrations

Mangaluru, Apr 14: Lourdes Central School celebrated Ambedkar Jayanthi on Friday, April 14 at LCS grounds to mark the 132 birth anniversary of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Constitution of India.

The event commenced with a prayer song sung by the choir members followed by the intentions read by class X students.

A meaningful thought for the day was read by Tarun of class X. The vice principals Belita Mascarenhas and Anita Thomas along with the student representatives offered a floral tribute to Dr B R Ambedkar on his birth anniversary.

Sanmith of class XII and Laghima of class X enlightened the audience in both English and Hindi about Ambedkar's birth and his contribution in the framing of the Indian constitution and also spoke on the achievements of Dr B R Ambedkar.

The vice principal Belita Mascarenhas spoke on the occasion and said that with proper goal, hard work and responsibilities one can become great leaders. She also motivated students to follow Dr B R Ambedkar's footsteps and inculcate his values in their lives, to achieve their aim and uplift society and to do away with self-pity.

The programme concluded by respectfully singing the school Anthem. The programme was compered by Sujan and Ashel of class X.
