Mangaluru, Apr 6: Mangaluru CCB Police have arrested a person on charges of his involvement in jobs and visa fraud cases.
The accused, identified as Sudhir Rao, 42, from Bejai new road, was actively involved in cheating public over promising jobs and giving visas to Bulgaria and for taking lacs of rupees from the public. He has so far cheated more than 30 people.
Sudhir Rao has a case registered against his name at Mangaluru city and district police limits over fraud cases and had remained absconding.
The accused had created fake documents for buying a car and taken loans from co-operative societies and cheated them as well. Two cases have been filed in this regard at Surathkal police station and another two cases at Mangaluru east and also one each at Mangaluru South and Kankanady police stations.
The accused has reportedly cheated people with regard to his promise of providing for jobs and visas to Bulgaria and has cheated people to the tune of lacs of rupees without providing any kind of visas or jobs or refunding their money. Cases have been filed in this regard at Moodabidiri and Bantwal police stations.
Sudhir Rao has more than 8 cases filed against his name and has been involved in cheating people to the tune of over Rs 50 lacs.
The operation to nab the accussed was carried out under the guidance of Police Commissioner Kuldeep Jain and the direction of CCB ACP P A Hegde witth the help of inspector Shyam Sundar, PSI Sudeep and others.
