Mangalore, Jun 28: The Aloysian Boys Home, a home for the delinquents and orphans' at Kotekar managed by St Aloysius College, celebrated 'Centre Day' and feast of St Aloysius Gonzaga here on Sunday June 26.
In his message, chief guest and rector of Aloysian Institutions Fr Joseph Rodrigues encouraged the boys to excel in all future endeavours.
Sr Ida Mendoca, in-charge of the boys' home gave a power point presentation on the achievements of the children.
Three inmates namely Godwin Pereira, Krishnappa and Tony Roshan who completed pre-university course were given Fr Victor D’Souza Memorial scholarships instituted by Man Booker prize winner Aravind Adiga, an alumnus of the college.
The inmates presented a short cultural programme along with demonstration of yoga.
Fr Leo D’souza SJ, director of Aloysius Boy's Home was also present.
