Mangaluru, Apr 1: Several transgenders joined JD(S) in the Suma Sadana auditorium of Mallikatta in the city under the leadership of Nisha and in the presence of Dr Sumati S Hegde.

JD(S) leaders Bharati Pushparajan, Kavita, Asha Sujnesh, Sharada Shette, Sunita, JD(S) Mangaluru south office bearers Altaf Thumbay, Salim Javed, Dinesh Pais, Jayaram, Manoj kumar and other workers were present.

Some transgenders shared their experience and appreciated the friendship and service shown by Dr Sumati S Hegde towards them and also thanked for giving them such a platform.

The newly joined members mentioned about the Pancharatna scheme of JD (S) and appreciated the positive response given by JD(S) candidate about their demand for permanent site, if Dr Sumati S Hegde wins the elections. They also promised to work for the JD(S) candidate.

The transgenders became emotional while speaking about the sitting MLA, who sought their votes in the last elections and neglected their community after winning the elections.

Dr Sumati S Hegde cordially welcomed all the third gender members who willingly joined JD(S) by accepting party ideology.
