Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Jun 24: Dakshina Kannada district BJP Yuvamorcha will hold mega protest rally in front of the office of the district deputy commissioner in the city at 3.30 pm on Friday June 24, demanding enforcement of a ban on the activities of Karnataka Forum for Dignity (KFD). State president of BJP Yuvamorcha, Sunil Kumar, will be addressing the protestors.

Yuvamorcha district president, Kishore Kumar Puttur, claimed that the police inquiry has proved the involvement of KFD in the abduction and murder of two Hunsur-based students, communal riots in the city four years back, and the communal clashes in Kyatamaranahalli, Mysore, in the recent past.

He said that the direct involvement of KFD in the murder of BJP leader from Mulky, Sukhanand Shetty, had also become apparent. The Yuvamorcha had repeatedly demanded for banning this organization in the past, in view of the fact that KFD’s members are involved with murder, burglary, robbery, communal clashes etc, Kumar added.

Addressing a press conference at Karka on Thursday, BJP Yuvamorcha state president, Sunil Kumar, said that the Yuvamorcha condemns the extortion bid and incidents of murder committed by KFD activists. He alleged that KFD had been involved with treason and criminal activities since the last seven to eight years, and demanded placing a blanket ban on this organization. He also congratulated the police department for apprehending the culprits in the said case promptly.

Karkala taluk BJP Yuvamorcha will be holding a protest meeting in this connection at the bus stand in that town at 4 pm today.

Agriculture Produce Market Committee president, Anand Bandimutt, president of Shakti Kendra Bailoor, Antony D’Souza, taluk Yuvamorcha president, Mahavir Hegde, and general secretary, Navin Nayak Attur, were present at this press conference.

Similar demand was also made by BJP Yuvamorcha Udupi district president, Vilas Kumar Nayak, at a protest held at Clock Tower in the town on Thursday. Comparing KFD to banned organization, SIMI, he questioned the central government as to why it has spared this organization, which has connections with SIMI. He accused the union government of suspecting motives of Sangh Parivar when it had sought a ban on KFD.

BJP district president, Udayakumar Shetty, Dakshina Kannada Cooperative Fishing Federation president, Yashpal Suvarna, and other leaders were present.

Through separate petitions submitted to the deputy commissioners of various districts including Udupi, Kodagu and Dakshina Kannada, Vishwa Hindu Parishat and Bajrang Dal units have urged the government to ban KFD, said VHP divisional secretary, Krishnamurty, and Bajrang Dal convenor, Sharan Pumpwell, in a release.
