Doha, Mar 26: Indian Cultural Center (ICC) along with 3 other apex bodies under the aegis of Embassy of Indian in Qatar, jointly bid farewell to Dr Deepak Mittal, India’s Ambassador to Qatar. The event was attended by Indian community leaders, leaders from the associated organizations and other prominent Indians residing in Qatar. The event was held at Ashoka Hall in ICC premises, Doha.

ICC’s president A P Manikantan welcomed all the guests and dignitaries. The presidents of the remaining three apex bodies Shanavas Bava (ICBF), E P Abdul Rahman (ISC) and Jaffer Us Sadik (IBPC) gave away felicitation speech in the honor of the Ambassador. ICC’s coordinating officer and first secretary S Xavier Dhanraj shared his experience and association with the Ambassador.

Dr Mittal appreciated the apex bodies and the community leaders for their contribution and proactive approach in the interest of the Indian community. He also shared the positive feedback as per his meeting with from Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on the immense contribution of Indian community to Qatar.

ICC had also organized Iftar on this occasion. In preparation for Iftar, M I Farid, an Indian veteran in Qatar explained the benefits of fasting. After Iftar, Dr Deepak Mittal along with his wife Dr Alpana, met the event attendees individually and thanked them for their wishes.

Dr Mittal will be taking up the new assignment given to him by the Government of India in due course.
