Bengaluru, Mar 25: Higher Education Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan laid the foundation stone for construction of the Accident and Emergency Treatment as well as Trauma Care unit at the K C General Hospital in Bengaluru on Saturday.
The Trauma Care Unit will have 50 bed capacity and will be very useful for the people of northern Bengaluru, especially Malleswaram, Rajajinagar, Magadi Road, Peenya, Nelamangala and surrounding areas.
The minister said the new facility when completed will ensure that accident victims do not have to go to NIMHANS or Sanjay Gandhi hospital for treatment.
He said government hi-tech hospitals have been set up in Yeshwanthpur, Govindarajanagar and Mahadevapura and the government hospitals have increased their bed capacity by 2000 post-Covid pandemic. However, he stressed the need for improving the quality of the service to enable the people to benefit from government hospitals.
BJP MP P C Mohan, Congress MLC Dinesh Gundu Rao and Medical Superintendent Dr Indira R Kabade participated in the function.
