Amit Shah demonstrates BSY’s importance with breakfast at residence

Bengaluru, Mar 23: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday demonstrated the importance of Lingayat strongman and former chief minister B S Yediyurappa to the ruling BJP ahead of the assembly polls by visiting his residence in the morning and also has breakfast with him in the morning.

Amit Shah, who arrived in Bengaluru on Friday morning on a two-day visit to participate in various programmes ahead of Saturday’s visit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was received at the HAL airport by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Bommai accompanied Shah to Yediyurappa’s residence and had breakfast with his predecessor.

Significantly, Yediyurappa and his younger son B Y Vijayendra, State BJP Vice President, and later took upon the responsibility of serving food to the visitors.

It is evident that Amit Shah wants to please Yediyurappa and indicate that the party will respect his wishes to field Vijayendra from his Shikaripura assembly constituency if he persists with his decision of not contesting.

Shah later inaugurated the regional conference of Southern States and Union Territories on drugs trafficking and security at Bengaluru.

Bommai as well as State Home Minister Araga Jnandera, Chief Secretary Vandita Sharma, State DGP Praveen Sood and others were present.
