Udupi: Child Stolen from Roadside near Brahmavar

Udupi, Jun 23: A couple working at national road expansion site at Herur near Brahmavar in the taluk said in a complaint filed with Brahmavar police station that their child, rested by the roadside while they worked, was taken away by unknown persons.

Chinna, a native of Nasserjung in Chittapur taluk of Gulbarga district said that his none-month-old child, Nagamani had been stolen on Wednesday June 22. The child had been laid down on a bed of clothes a little away from the road opposite Supreme Feeds in Herur, he said. The timing of the theft has been given as between 12.45 and 1 pm.

The child was nine-month-old, and its complexion is wheatish. Its right leg has some deformity, and the child was wearing black frock when it went missing, the complainant added. Chinna and his wife are working as labourers for Navyug Constructions, to which the national highway expansion work between Kundapur and Suratkal has been contracted.
