Bantwal, Mar 21: During the grievances redressal programme at the Bantwal taluk office, the Lokayukta SP questioned officials about the cause of disappearance of files. About 15 individuals had filed their grievances in the program, which was led by the SP. Victor Veigas, a resident of Karopady, stated that the office staff repeatedly claimed that his file was missing.
Tahsildar S P Koodalagi, who was present, assured the group that he would resolve the issue within ten days. Other grievances included a person who had not received their title deed, a lady who had been repeatedly searching for her file between the survey office and the revenue office, and a local resident named Ramanna Shetty, who had not received sufficient compensation during the construction of Shamboor dam.
Local residents also requested the illegal occupation of land at the stormwater drain near Netravati river be vacated. Subrahmanya Bhat claimed that people who had lost their land during the construction of Thumbe dam had not been compensated fairly.
Tahsildar S P Koodalagi, Lokayukta inspector Vinayaka Billava, staff Mahesh Kumar and Vinayak, deputy tahsildar Narendranath Mithur, and various department heads were present at the meeting.
