Udupi: Job seeker loses Rs 2.5 lacs in fraudulent online part-time work offer

Udupi, Mar 20: A job seeker has lost Rs 2.5 lacs to a fraudulent online job offer. On March 15, the victim was offered an online part-time job by a stranger who contacted them through WhatsApp using the number +265881731097.

The stranger gave the victim some online tasks and made them remit a total of Rs 2,52,600 to various bank accounts belonging to the stranger between March 15 and March 20. The stranger cheated the victim by not providing them with any job as promised.

A case has been registered at CEN Police Station under Crime No. 36/2023, Section 66 (D) of the IT Act.
