Mangaluru, Mar 20: Former MLA Mohiudeen Bava will lead a protest on the failure of the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) administration on March 21.
Addressing the media on Monday, Bava said, "The MCC administration has completely failed under the BJP government. Civic workers have been on strike for several days, and waste has not been collected. The Mayor and MLA have not taken any measures to resolve the issue so far. There have been back-to-back fire incidents at Pacchanady, where you can clearly witness the negligence of the BJP-led MCC administration. The BJP has surrendered and is on the verge of losing in the upcoming elections. The housing scheme in the Surathkal constituency, which was undertaken during my tenure and completed up to bank loan approval, has not been completed even after five years of MLA Dr Bharath Y Shetty's tenure."
He also said, "We will give a deadline up to Friday for the matter to be resolved, or else Congress representatives will take up the disposal of waste."
When asked about the sand seizure on March 19, Bava alleged the involvement of supporters of the current MLA in illegal sand storage.
When asked if he would contest independently if denied a ticket from Congress, Bava said, "I have faith that I will get a ticket from Congress to contest in the election."
