Mangalore, Jun 21: Except occasional light drizzle, the twin-districts remained free of any significant rainfall on Monday June 20. While some places in Sullia and Puttur taluks received some rains on Monday morning, the climate resembled summer days, as temperatures rose.
The dry climate forced the farmers to postpone their agricultural activities like ploughing their fields, as there was no water. On Monday night however, there were some rains.
The meteorological department predicted that coastal Karnataka will receive good rains, quantum of which might be around 65 cm. It has also warned the fishermen not to enter the sea, as strong wind is expected to blow during this period.
