Bengaluru, Feb 24: BJP national chief secretary C T Ravi clarified the issue of him visiting temple after having meat and said, “I did not remember that I ate meat. It was quite late after having meal. There was no plan to go to the temple. Only because locals forced, I had to go there. When I went to the temple, it was closed. So I just went to the passage of the temple.”
Speaking to media near Vidhan Southda, Ravi said, “It is true that I have non-vegetarian meals that day. But I did not enter the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. Locals took me to the temple and luckily it was locked.
“There was no plan to go to the temple. Only because it was built on disputed land, locals forced me to go. Hence, I went with them.
“I am not like Congress leaders who say that they will go to temple after having meat. There are temples where the food offerings is veg and there are also temples where the food offered is non-vegetarian to the deity. It is really unfortunate that the Congress party members do not understand this,” he said.
On February 19, Ravi visited Uttara Kannada district. He had non veg meal at the house of MLA Sunil Naika at Shirali of Bhatkal. Then he visited Nagabana and Karibanta Haunuma temple. The photos of him visiting the holy places had gone viral on social media.
