Udupi, Feb 24: Padubelle Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal (BD) activists caught four youths of different religion, who were going from door to door under the limits of Belle gram panchayat and conducting surveys of caste, party etc, and handed over them to the police on Thursday February 23.
The four youths were residing at a lodge in Udyavar. They had visited around 20 houses in Padubelle holding voter list and were making surveys. Some house inmates who got suspicious of the youths, informed the matter to the activists of Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad. They came and handed over the youths to the police.
The youths are from outstation districts and informed police that they were conducting a survey as per the instructions of Devaraj of Hospete Munirabad. The youths carry ID cards of a company named Gurgaon Nation Time. Shirva police are probing further.
The local women expressed fear that youths like this may rob, loot or rape in the pretext of voter survey.
Shirva police station officer Raghavendra C clarified that no one is allowed to conduct any unauthorised survey. They should take permission letters from district administration or the superintendent of police. Public is requested to contact the police station in case of any suspicion.
