Mumbai, Jun 9: The Class IX students of Ryan Global, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai visited Kennedy Space Centre at Orlando, USA to get a glimpse of engineering and scientific marvels.
The high point of the visit was that the children could visit the launching of the space shuttle endeavour. The group even had an interactive session with former NASA astronaut Leroy Chiao who has logged a total of 229 days, 7hours, 38 minutes and 5 seconds in space. He shared his space experience with the students on the occasion.
The group witnessed the swimming training at NASA pool that is equipped with high-tech equipment. "‘The rocket launching session was a moment to be remembered forever. The underwater training was marvellous," said Gonzalo, a student.
The students visited Houston where a mock session was conducted for the students. They were divided into two groups – one group on land and the other group in space. The students gained first-hand knowledge on how the co-ordination takes place on earth as well as on land.
The students also visited Disney Land and Universal Studio.
