Puttur, Jun 9: “Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) supports anyone who undertakes fight against the menace of corruption, irrespective of his or her other affiliations. The Sangh has declared war on social evils like corruption. This decision is not aimed at supporting any particular individual. Even if Congress national president, Sonia Gandhi, takes up this fight, RSS is prepared to support her,” clarified RSS leader, Dr Prabhakar Bhat Kalladka. He was reacting to the statement made by union home minister, P Chidambaram, that the anti-corruption agitation launched by Baba Ramdev was a ploy backed by RSS.
He said that RSS has also been working to end the scourge of untouchability from the country, among others. “It appears that Chidambaram is getting bad dreams featuring RSS. This is like demon Kamsa dreaming of Lord Srikrishna,” he added.
Dr Bhat clarified that RSS had indeed passed a resolution against corruption at the delegates session held in the town during March this year. He clarified that this was a message from the RSS to the society as a whole, and not a decision taken against or in favour of any particular individual or organization. He felt that the home minister was wrong in interpreting this move of RSS in his own way, and commenting thereupon in a manner that suits his purposes.
