Mangaluru, Feb 6: Stany Mendonca, popularly known as ‘Stan’, presented his 15th musical nite at Cordel Church ground here on Sunday, February 5. The nite presented by Alfred Bennis Creations enthralled the music lovers till the end with a variety of compositions and comedy skits.
Fr Joseph Mascarenhas, parish priest, Kelarai, Fr Clifford Fernandes, parish Priest, Cordel, Roy Castelino, PRO, Mangaluru Diocese, Louis J Pinto, president, Mandd Sobhann, Austin Peris, entrepreneur, Anil Lobo, chairman, MCC Bank, Alfred Bennis, Joseph Mathias, NRI entrepreneur and singer, Praveen Tauro, marketing head, Daijiworld graced as guests for the formal stage programme.
In his speech, Fr Joseph Mascarenhas said, "Alfred Bennis is doing a great job with his Alfred Bennis Creations. For many years, he has been organizing events with two major motives. First one is the financial help for the poor and secondly, he provides a stage for talents of Konkani entertainment world. This year, he planned the Stan Nite in aid of education for the students of St Ann's English Medium School, Kelarai. He is the real social worker and supporter of Konkani language and culture. At the same time we must appreciate Stan for his efforts towards the nite. With his efforts, he has also become a part of the social service activities of Alfred Bennis."
Later Stan performed his popular and new numbers along with other prominent singers like Joseph Mathias, Elton Pinto, Adline Pinto, Varna D'Souza, Bindu Cutinha and Sasha D’Souza. Legendary music duo Pappan and Joswin provided the music for the nite.
Team 'Dance Creatures' entertained the audience with their electrifying movements on stage. Comedy acts by the team 'Memory' comprising renowned TV serial artistes Mellu Valencia, Jeevan Vas, Sapna Saldanha and Richard Sequeira tickled the funny bones of the audience.
Ace anchor and TV host Leslie Rego compered the event in his unique style. Alfred Bennis welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering briefed his motive behind the nite. Sheldon Crasta compered the stage programme. Felix Moras proposed a vote of thanks.
