Mangaluru, Feb 6: In connection to the incident where a miscreant stabbed a staffer to death, the police have released the portrait of the suspected killer, from the CCTV footage.
The police, in statement said, “On February 3, between 3-30 pm to 3-45 pm, the following person came to Mangalore Jewellers situated at Balmatta Road, Mangaluru (Mangaluru north police station jurisdiction) in the guise of a gold buyer and stabbed and killed the staff Raghavendra Achar who was alone inside the jeweller. The portrait of the said person was found in the footage recorded in the local CCTVs.
“If any information about the said person is found, it is requested to inform the following mobile phone numbers of the officer under the jurisdiction of Mangalore commissionerate. It may be recalled, Raghava Acharya (55), the victim who was stabbed to death was head of a financially poor family. They are living on a rented house in Attavar. He used to work in various jewellery shops since some years. For the past seven years, he was employed in the shop where the killing occurred.
