Ajman, Jun 7: In continuation of human endeavour and to bring about health awareness to the people in the region, GMC Hospital, Ajman in association with Indian Association, Ajman, Karnataka Sangha, Sharjah, Beary’s Cultural Forum, Dubai organized a free Mega Health Camp at GMC Hospital, Ajman.
The all-important event was inaugurated by Mysore Lokesh Kapanaiah, ambassador of India to the United Arab Emirates, Embassy of India while Thumbay Moideen, founder president of Thumbay Group, UAE presided over the function.
A special team of specialist doctors, nurses and volunteers conducted free consultations and checkups in accident and emergency, anesthesiology, cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology, dermatology and cosmetology, dental surgery, ENT, family medicine, general surgery, internal medicine, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, orthopedic surgery, paediatrics and neonatology, physiotherapy, plastic surgery, radiology, urology, venerology to all the 2,300 visitors who attended the mega health camp.
In addition to this, free blood pressure check was carried out on the visitors to create awareness about diabetes and hypertension which is one of the most worrisome health issues prevalent in this region. The visitors were also offered free medicines besides the 30% discount on Laboratory and Radiology (X-ray, CT, ultrasound etc.) investigations, 50% on outpatient ophthalmology procedures, 30% discount on frames and sunglasses at Zo and Mo Opticals. As part of the hospital promotion free hospital brochures, health packages, health magazines were distributed to all the patients and visitors.
Later, Moideen was felicitated by the co-organizers of the social event for his valuable contribution and tireless support to the humanitarian cause of creating awareness in the matters of health and providing affordable healthcare to all sections of the society.
This endeavour of GMC Hospital, Ajman was well received and highly appreciated both by the public and the organizers of the event.
