Mangalore, Jun 4: Deputy commissioner has directed all the tahsildars to make (school administration) registration of the RTC of the schools that are under government lands in their respective names.
Presiding over the co-ordination committee meeting in DC’s office on Friday June 3, DC Dr N S Chennappa Gowda said that if all the officers work in co-ordination, the district will see development.
Out of 1,060 government schools in the district, 984 schools have RTC in their names, 76 schools are yet to get their RTC registered in their names. The registration of 26 schools in Mangalore taluk, eight in city, three in Puttur, nine in Beltangady and 10 in Sullia is pending, he said and added that the education department should avail related information to the assistant commissioner. Tahsildar has been asked to manage the system, he said.
Collating information about the ongoing construction work of circuit house by the PWD in the district, DC said that MESCOM and PWD should work with all co-ordination.
He stressed the NHAI (National Highway Authority of India) to give importance to drainage system while widening the highway.
During the meeting, issues like road and police outpost in Pilikula, water supply for Pacchanady waste disposal unit and bus facility were raised. Surgeon of Lady Goschen Hospital requested the corporation to dispose the waste gathered at the rear of the hospital.
Additional DC Prabhakar Sharma attracted the attention of the members by saying that though the order letter was sent to borewell agencies to act responsibly on the back drop of Supreme Court order to avert any incidents of children falling to such open wells, the agencies have not responded to the letter. He also informed that public relation officer will co-ordinate as an information collector in the district.
DCP Mutthuraya, additional superintendent of police and Mangalore City Corporation commissioner Dr K N Vijay Prakash were present at the meet.
