Panaji, May 31: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has said that that there are several evidences still lying at the burnt factory, where two tribal leaders were killed, and which are not even collected by investigating agency.
Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar said that weapons like iron rods and sharp weapons are lying at the gutted Adarsh Cashew Factory at Balli, 60 kms away from Panaji.
The Crime Branch has not conducted proper panchanama of the incident as there are several evidences which are left untouched and unrecorded.
Parrikar said that killing of two tribal leaders as a cruel pre-planned act which is evident from the fact that the weapons were ready with the mob.
The agitation by United Tribals Associations Alliance (UTAA) took a bitter turn when locals killed two tribal leaders, allegedly in presence of police.
The leader of opposition said that both the leaders were first killed and then thrown in the fire. “Manguesh Gaonkar (one of the deceased) was fallen on the burning Cashews. If he was alive, he would have moved and tried to escape,” Parrikar said.
Similarly, he added that Dilip Velip, second tribal leader, was brutally injured and dumped in the toilet as the factory was on fire. “There was blood stains in the toilet. If he died of suffocation, there would not have been blood there next to his body,” Parrikar added.
Reiterating Judicial Inquiry into the incident, Parrikar alleged that police were busy destroying the evidence.
Meanwhile, tribal leader and BJP legislator Ramesh Tawadkar, has identified one of his assailant. Tawadkar said that he was invited for identification parade at the crime branch and he has already identified one person.
Tawadkar along with his wife was attacked by a mob allegedly in presence of police.
Police sources stated that they are also interrogating three suspects, picked up in connection with death of two tribal leaders.
