Panaji: NCP Apologizes to Goa Tribals for Carnage

Panaji, May 30: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has apologized to the scheduled tribe community for the killing of their two leaders in Balli violence which was reported on May 25.
NCP’s Goa Observer Bharati Chavan said,``the NCP apologises to the members of United Tribal Associations Alliance (UTAA) for the loss of their members.’’
NCP is a coalition partner in Congress-led state government and had failed to spelt its stand on the tribal issue.

NCP’s Goa Unit President Surendra Sirsat was slammed by tribal community for failing to react to the issues of tribals.
Chavan today said that NCP supports demands of the tribal community.
Two tribal leaders – Manguesh Gaonkar and Dilip Velip, were burnt to death by the crowd in presence of police. The tribals were agitating at Balli pressing for their various demands.
