Mumbai: Railway Yatri Sangha requests MP Gopal Shetty for CC Cameras in Matsyagandha train

Mumbai, Jan 7: A delegation of Railway Yatri Sangha, Borivali west zone visited north Mumbai MP Gopal C Shetty and congratulated him for his efforts to obtain a stop at Mulki for train number 12133 and 12134 that run on Konkan Rail route.

The delegation in the leadership of Railway Yatri Sangha honorary president Dr Virar B Shetty visited the MP at his office and explained to him the hardship being faced by people around Mulki railway station after suspension of the stop at Mulki. The delegation requested the MP to hold discussions with the minister of railways and concerned officials to reintroduce the railway stop at Mulki.

The delegation also requested the MP to request the Railway Sachivalaya again to introduce a new train from Mumbai Central to Mangaluru via Borivali, Vasai route to help all the passengers staying near Central railway stops.

The delegation brought to the notice of the MP that there is no complete overhead roof on railway stations at Karwar, Murdeshwar, Bhatkal, Byndoor, Kundapur, Udupi, Mulki, Surathkal, Mangaluru junction platform No 1 and 2 and passengers are facing problems during the monsoons to catch the trains. They also explained that there is a need for escalators and lift facilities at Udupi and other important railway stations.

Honorary president Dr Shanker Shetty brought to the notice of the MP that several thefts are occurring at Matsyagandha express and that the railway department should install CCTV cameras in every coach of the train.

Members of the Railway Yatri Sangha, Rajith Suvarna, Premnath Kotian and Raviraj Kallianpur were present.
