Beltangady, Dec 17: Police arrested thief who stole gold and cash from a patient who had come to hospital for treatment.
Hema, a native of Bengaluru, had come to Prakriti Chikitsa hospital at Shantivan of Dharmasthala on June 30 earlier this year for treatment. She had kept Rs 6000 cash and her Mangalasutra weighing 80 grams in her vanity bag. They went missing. The police traced the thief and arrested her.
Harsha (26), a native of Bengaluru is the arrested accused. The police have confiscated valuables worth Rs 2.5 lac from her.
A case was registered regarding the theft in Dharmasthala police station. A special team that went to Bengaluru was successful in tracing the accused. It is learnt that accused Harsha is a native of Bantwal and works in Bengaluru. She also got the visa ready to go to Dubai.
The accused was produced to the court of Beltangady on Thursday. She is sent to judicial custody.
