Bengaluru, Dec 12: Home minister Araga Jnanendra assured Hindu Janajagruti committee of forming a special police squad to curb love jihad incidents.
A pro-Hindu organizations delegation met the minister at his official residence and submitted an appeal in this regard.
The Hindu awareness committees said that love jihad is continuing unabated though law is implemented to prevent religious conversion. So they urged to form special squad in the model of Uttar Pradesh.
In their appeal, the pro-Hindu organizations accused that Shahin gang is active in five districts of Karnataka. Some Moulvis and Madarasas are also instigating such crimes.
Accepting the appeal submitted by the pro-Hindu organizations, home minister said that love jihad is considered seriously and government will take committed steps to curb the menace.
