Mangaluru, Dec 3: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) coordinator Prathibha Kulai who had assured those working in the Surathkal toll plaza of employment opportunities after its closure, has kept her word and help find many of the staff find employment.
Kulai on September 15 had assured of getting jobs to those working in the Surathkal toll plaza. She has told that she had contacted several private companies and firms to provide employment opportunities for these youths.
In Facebook post, she said, “My dear brothers and sisters of Tulunadu, I have met 35 people, who lost their job due to Surathkal toll gate closure and have assured them to get jobs according to their educational qualification. Accordingly, I am working in my office from today morning. Toll in-charge Mithun Baikampady responded suitably. Already 22 people have met me and I am successful in placing most of the girls and boys in various organizations. Among those who lost their jobs, is a student, whose financial situation of family is really pitiful. He studies in KPT during day time and used to work in toll gate at night. I have taken him as foster through my Kulai Foundation and made arrangements for his expenses of education and also a job for him. Another woman who used to work at the toll gate has children. I will provide her suitable job and take her children as foster for education purpose. More than 500 students are already taken on foster for education purpose by Kulai Foundation. This year I am going to take more children for educational support. I do not give false assurances. I follow what I preach. I will give more information on this subject in coming days.”
