Panaji, May 18: Benaulim Legislator Micky Pacheco has said that one fourth of the ministers from Digambar Kamat-led Cabinet are convicted but still are enjoying ministerial positions.
He was reacting to Pawar’s statement that Pacheco’s cabinet induction is on hold because of the court deciding against him.
“Three out of twelve ministers – Joaquim Alemao, Churchill Alemao and Babush Monserratte, have been convicted by the courts but still they are in the cabinet,” Pacheco said adding that he has already appealed against his conviction in the court.
“I have got stay on my conviction and appealed in the higher court that means the case is being trial fresh. Where is the issue of me denying cabinet position because of conviction,” he said.
Pacheco said that if Sharad Pawar wanted to give ministry, he would not have waited for such a long. “If Pawar had interest in giving me ministry, he would have done it soon after the assembly session,” the former tourism minister said.
He said that Congress and NCP are same liquids in different bottles and hence they stick together.
