Mangaluru, Nov 29: Former MLA JR Lobo said on Tuesday November 29 that the BJP-led state government has completely failed in maintaining the law and order and administration in the Dakshina Kannada district and coastal region.
Addressing media he said, “The accused in the cooker blast case in Mangaluru was also accused of writing provocative graffiti on a wall in the city. The accused was booked under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The police department and administration showed negligence and failed to trace his activities.”
He also said that blaming an entire community is not fair over one person’s activity. There are murderers in every community, he said.
He also questioned why the government has failed to take action against those who spread misleading and false information on social media. “When elections are round the corner, incidents of violence are reported. The BJP’s working style displays a dual stand,” he said.
“While the elections approach, gaining benefits from violence is the strategy of BJP,” he alleged.
“Due to certain developments in the district, investors are not coming forward to invest here. All this has affected the admissions in colleges, tourism industry and temples. The law and order has completely failed in the district,” he said.
He urged the general public to think about the current situation and developments happening in the district.
“The local people’s representatives have failed to maintain the law and order situation. The government should ban those organisations which will spoil peace of the society, he added.
He also said the present government is imposing GST on milk products. “My question to people is that do we need such a government?” he asked.
