Mangaluru, Nov 18: Thieves stole Rs nine lac cash from the flower shop that is situated on the ground floor of Nalapad Apsara Chambers building on K S Rao Road in the city on Wednesday night.
The shop is owned by Ummarabba, a resident of Kankanady. He has been doing the wholesale business of flowers for 12 years. Ummarabba used to take cash every day to home. However, on Wednesday, he had kept Rs nine lac cash in the drawer of the table as he had to pay the flower suppliers the money on the next day and left the shop at 6 pm after locking.

On Thursday morning, when Ummarabba’s son Riaz arrived at the shop, he saw that the center lock of the shop was broken. He immediately called his father Ummarabba, who rushed to the spot and came to know that the money in the drawer was stolen. In addition, the thieves have also taken the CCTV camera and DVR worth Rs 10,000.
Ummarabba said that he had kept the cash for the flower farmers who supply flowers to him from the districts of Chitradurga and Tumakuru.
Bunder police have registered a case and are probing further.
