Udupi, Nov 12: Talent show ‘Prathibha Sinchana – 2022’ was held at St Mary’s English Medium School Kannarpady on Saturday November 12 in a grand manner.
Walter Nandalike, founder and managing director of Daijiworld media inaugurated the event by unveiling the mascot representing a bundle of talents. Fr Charles Menezes, correspondent, unveiled the logo of the programme and kick started the celebrations.
Walter Nandalike was felicitated by the school administration on the occasion. He congratulated the students, teachers and parents for their disciplined behaviour.
Addressing the gathering, Walter Nandalike said, “Since the last few days, I have been attending school events regularly and I am impressed with the St Mary’s campus. Today, I am standing in front of you just because of my teachers. Today’s parents are more conscious about their children in showcasing their talents. All the students are talented in various fields, but they only need encouragement. Meanwhile, along with co-curricular activities, studies are also equally important. Parents should encourage their children to take up civil service examinations like the IAS, IPS, KAS and others.”
Addressing the gathering, Fr Charles Menezes, correspondent, St Mary’s educational institutions said, “Today is a feast day for all of us. Yesterday one of my students called me after about 20 years and thanked me for helping her in achieving her goal. This quality of showcasing gratitude should be inculcated by every student. More than the children, their parents felt happy today while their children were being honoured not just for their academics but for multiple cultural activities. Parents know the talents of their children. Many might be getting good marks but showcasing the talent and working towards their passion is as important as well.”
Student achievers of various co-curricular activities were honoured on the occasion.
Students exhibited their talents through dance, singing, music performances and much more. Lucky games were held for the students and parents. A large number of parents also participated in the programme.
School teachers Rajashree and Jagadeesh were honoured for drafting the title of the programme and designing the logo respectively.
Fr Roy Lobo, assistant parish priest Udupi Fr Steevan Fernandes, director, Youth Commission diocese of Udupi Boniface D’Souza, vice-president parish pastoral committee Benedicta Fernandes, secretary Nidish Shetty, head boy and Samantha Mascarenhas, head girl were present on the dais.
