Mangaluru, Nov 12: Conjunctivitis or Red eyes or Madras eye disease is rampant in the vicinity of Bajpe. It has spread to several houses and children are the most affected.
ASHA workers, who visit every house for a vaccine survey on brain fever, are facing a problem. The disease first erupted in Padil area under Bajpe panchayat limits. Now it has spread to Jari Nagara. It is slowly spreading to other nearby villages also.

Mother and children who arrive at the primary health care centre for monthly injections are advised to visit after a week as a precaution.
In some houses, all members of the family are suffering from the disease. When they arrive to buy essentials at shops and markets, the disease spreads.
