Kasargod, May 7 (PTI): Kerala health minister P K Sreemathi today visited the house of the minor girl, a victim of health problems reportedly caused by aerial spraying of pesticide endosulfan, who later died allegedly due to medical negligence at a government hospital here.
Speaking to reporters, she said Health Department Additional Director Dr Sreedhar has been asked to inquire into the incident and submit a report. Stringent action would be taken against those responsible for the death of the two-and-a-half-year old, after getting the report, she said.
She said Rs 2 lakh from Chief minister's relief fund has been sanctioned to the family.
The child Prajitha died on May 5 after she failed to receive timely treatment at the government hospital in Kasaragod, a district that suffered worst on account of aerial spraying of endosulfan in the state-run cashew plantation.
