Bijapur, May 7 (PTI): Six persons, including three women, were killed and two others injured when the car they were travelling in collided with a lorry at Managuli cross, about 20 kms from here today, police said.
While five persons died on the spot, a woman succumbed to injuries in Bijapur government hospital.The two injured are undergoing treatment in the same hospital, police said.
The deceased were identified as Nethra (40), her husband Gurusiddaiah (55), Manjunath Eshwarappa (45), his wife Geetha (30), Ganganna Uthappa (50) and his wife Sarojamma (45).
The eight, residents of Alamatti, were proceeding to Shirdi to visit the holy shrine of Shirdi Sai Baba.The lorry has been impounded and a hunt is on for the driver, police added.
