Kidnapped Bangalore Girl Rescued


Ghaziabad, May 5 (PTI) A teenaged girl from Bangalore, who was allegedly kidnapped and later sold to a youth in Uttarakhand, was rescued following a raid on a house here, police said today.

A team of Bangalore police led by sub-inspector Manjura Tripathi raided the house yesterday in Garhmukteshwar area and recovered the 16-yr-old girl and arrested a youth Arvind, they said.

He bought the girl for Rs 70,000 from Haldwani in Uttarakhand, they said adding that Arvind claims that he had married the girl.

The girl was kidnapped by someone in Bangalore last month following which her father Radhy Shyam had lodged a police complaint on April 19 in Pinya police station there, police said.

The arrested youth was produced before a magistrate for transit remand, they said adding that the girl's statement will be recorded in Bangalore and investigations are on.

    We heard honour killings, dowry deaths. Now people started buying human beings mostly girls, just like cattles. It is very sad how can do this to his fellow human being.
