Puttur: Illegal Cattle Trafficking - Six Held

Puttur, May 5: The policemen attached to Uppinangady station near here, intercepted two vehicles at Nelyady and Golitottu on national highway 48 respectively, late night on Tuesday May 3. They confiscated these two vehicles, and arrested six persons. 18 heads of cattle were also taken into possession.

The cattle, which were herded in these vehicles in a way that caused sufferings to the cattle, were being transported from Hassan to Kasargod. Mohammed, Abdul Basheer, Saddam Hussein, Jamir, Imran, and Mohammed from Hassan were arrested, and cases were registered against them.

All these six accused were produced in the local court on Wednesday. Further investigations are. Circle inspector, B K Manjaiah of the rural police station here, and other personnel of his station were involved with this operation.
