Mumbai (RBI), Oct 12: The newly appointed Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Mumbai Achim Fabig called on Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Wednesday October 12.
The Consul General told the governor that Germany has lots of investment in Maharashtra especially in the sectors of manufacturing, automotive industry and technology. He said about 35000 Indian students are pursuing higher and professional education in Germany and that the number is growing in recent years. Stating that Germany is collaborating with India in areas such as green Energy, Metro Rail and others, he said he would like to see greater cooperation in the field of cultural exchanges and education.
Welcoming the Consul General to Maharashtra, Governor Koshyari said he would extend him all help in enhancing academic cooperation including student exchange between universities in Maharashtra and those in Germany. He said he hopes to see greater cooperation in the field of Climate Change, Renewable Energy, Ecology, Culture and Education.
