Mangalore, May 3: Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner, Subodh Yadav, asked the concerned to create basic facilities like water, road, power supply etc in 176 acres of land near Ira in the taluk earmarked for developing industrial area there. “Once these facilities are in place, steps should be taken to give preference to local entrepreneurs/industrialists while allotting land there,” he instructed.
He was speaking after presiding over the district level Single Window Committee meeting held on Monday May 2 in the office of the deputy commissioner here.
He noted that out of 585 acres of land needed for industrial area development in Ira village, 176 acres has been acquired. He wanted this land to be developed on priority before distributing the same to the needy. He also instructed the officials of Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board to hand over land needed for electric sub-station in 200 acres of land acquired by it near Ganjimutt, immediately on payment of money. He also directed the concerned to complete incomplete road and drainage works in Bykmapady Industrial Area before the end of this month.
Joint director in the department of industry and commerce, S G Hegde, and officials of KIADB, KSFC, Mescom, and office bearers of Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry were present.
