Mangaluru, Oct 9: The University Employment Information and Guidance Bureau (UEIGB) and University Training and Placement Cell (UTPC), Mangalore University, organised “Campus Selection and a 5-week Training Program on Medical Coding - 2022”, on October 7 for the outgoing students. Around 180 students participated and benefitted from the program.
Prof K S Jayappa, The Finance Officer and Chief of UEIGB & UTPC briefed about the program and also welcomed the gathering.
The program was inaugurated by Orville Jameson D’Souza, vice president, Optum, Clement Joel Sequeira, head of talent acquisition, Optum and Bhaskar Mandlem, senior manager and segment leader, medical coding, Optum. Orville Jameson D’Souza delivered the inaugural address, briefed about the Company and also explained about the functions of Optum Company.
The program was presided over by Prof P Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya, vice chancellor, Mangalore University. In his presidential remarks, he persuaded students not to give up, first deserve and then desire, have patience, endurance of highest order and perseverance. He also said one should have willingness, knowledge, attitude and values, to be competent. Students need to be smart performers to grab the opportunities.
