Moodbidri, Apr 30: Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court H N Nagmohandas said that every judge should strive to bring about improvements in the judicial sector by adopting new perspectives and ideas. Co-operation between the lawyer, judge, judicial staff, police, officers and petitioners is essential to arrive at a good verdict, he noted.
He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for the Rs 4-crore civil court complex in Moodbidri on Saturday April 30.
He further said that in recent years even the courts are functioning under immense pressure as cases of different kinds like those involving family, religion and other matters, which earlier would have been resolved among the parties concerned, are now being brought to the court of law for dispensation of justice.
Former Judge N K Jain had sanctioned the construction of the sessions court in the year 2004 for which the revenue and the husbandry departments gave their 1.96 acre of reserved land. This new construction involves a court complex and quarters for judges. The court will come up within a year.
Abhayachandra Jain presided. Judges B V Pinto Mundkoor, S Abdul Nazeer Saheb, Belvai and Nagamohandas were present. Law minister Suresh Kumar was the chief guest. Additional advocate general K M Natraj, founder president of BAR council Moodubidri Bahubali Prasad, president M S Kotian spoke on the occasion.
Advocates M K Vijaykumar, K R Pandith, P P Hegde, T N Poojari, Shanthiprasad Hegde and Veena were present. District judge A R Deshpande welcomed.
