Mangalore: Girl Commits Suicide After Appearing for CET

Mangalore, Apr 30: M S Rakshita (17), a resident of Parimala Temple Road in Moodigere, Chikmagalur distrit, and a student of a college in the city, committed suicide late night on Thursday April 28. She was a second year PU student.

Rakshita had stayed in the ladies hostel of the college during her pre university education. After the final examination, she had gone to her native place. She had come back to the city to appear for the common entrance test (CET). After the test, she stayed in the hostel room, participated in the birth day party of a friend, and mixed freely with class mates till 11 pm on Thursday. At around 12.30 am on Friday, when the friends knocked at the doors of her room, there was no response. They saw from the window that the girl’s body was hanging from the room’s ceiling fan.

It is learnt that she is survived by father, Sarvottam, a merchant by profession, and mother, who is a housewife. Her elder brother, Rahul, had completed engineering course, and is currently working in Bangalore.
