Bantwal, Apr 30: Union minister for law and justice, Dr M Veerappa Moily, visited Sri Mittamajal Daivasthana and paid obeisance to the presiding deities of the Daivasthana, Daiyangulu, Ullalti and Nalkaittaya, which are believed to be powerful protectors of righteousness, on Friday April 29.

“I have always stood by truth. This is the place where truth and honesty is upheld by deities. I seek their blessings to arm me with powers to turn impossible into possible, and to make the dream of country’s development a reality,” he said. He confessed that he was to participate in the earlier function of installation of the flag pole of the Daivasthana, and that his closeness and affection for B Sadanand Punja forced him to visit this place.

Local religious leaders, Kantadiguttu Sheena Hegde, Mundappa Shetty, Venkappa Poojary and Kocha Poojary offered tradition reception to the minister on his arrival.

Speaking on the occasion, writer, Erya Lakshminarayan Alva, recollected that Moily had enabled rural students from the state to enter engineering degrees by introducing common entrance test in the country for the first time, and hoped that the minister will be able to ensure that the Jana Lok gets passed during his tenure as union minister.

Former zilla panchayat president, B Sadanand Punja, MLA, U T Khader, Hemanath Shetty, Bondala Jagannath Shetty, Mulund Bunts president, Vivek Shetty Nagrittu, and a number of other leaders and dignitaries were present.
