Udupi: Fine Craftsman, Metal Sculptor, Bhushan Acharya, Passes Away

Udupi, Apr 29: Bhushan Acharya (61) from Parkala near here, who was renowned and respected in the region for his excellent craftsmanship, intricate carvings, and fine creations, passed away on Thursday April 28. He is survived by two sons.

Bhushan’s forte was carving of copper idols of Daivas. This skill was handed over to him through generations. He was a noted BJP leader. He had worked as BJP Parkala unit president, and vice president of the town municipality. He was the joint secretary of Parkala Ganeshotsava Samiti and nominated member of Parkala Consumers Cooperative City.

Minister, Dr V S Acharya, MLA, K Raghupati Bhat, district BJP president, K Udayakumar Shetty, former municipal presidents, Dinakar Shetty and Somashekhar Bhat, and a number of others have mourned his death and offered condolences to his family.
