Bangalore: Advani’s Visit - Not to Meet Party Leaders, Press

Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Apr 28: Former deputy Prime Minister and BJP leader, L K Advani, is scheduled to inaugurate the newly built state BJP’s office in the city at 11 am on Thursday April 28. Surprisingly, he will not be meeting the dissident legislators, ministers, party leaders or the press.

The MLAs and MPs, who have been nursing a grouse against state Chief Minister, B S Yeddyurappa, were planning to meet Advani separately, and discuss with him political developments in the state. They reportedly experienced stiff resistance from state BJP president, K S Eshwarappa.

Knowing fully well about the internal bickerings in the state BJP, Advani had shown his disinclination to come to the city. It is gathered that he had expressed his wish to cancel his visit to the state, which was fixed long back, because of the corruption charges Yeddyurappa is facing.

On his arrival, Advani will visit Kadu Malleshwara temple and offer puja there. He will inaugurate the party office, and return to New Delhi within a short time thereafter. Sources said that the state BJP leadership has decided not to arrange for his interaction with the media. Advani, it is learnt, is peeved over the refusal of the party leadership to give in to his persistent demand for the ouster of Yeddyprappa because of the charges of corruption the latter has been facing.
