Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 25: Dakshina Kannada on Sunday, September 25, reported nine new coronavirus cases while eight cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,37,008 out of which 56 are currently active. As many as six patients were discharged on September 25.

No deaths were reported on September 25. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,860.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 1.13% percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Eight coronavirus cases were reported on September 25.The total active Covid cases are 28.

A total of 10,90,700 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,85,201 have received both doses and 2,83,861 people have received booster doses.

Udupi reported four cases, while Kundapur and Karkala registered two cases each.
