Mangalore, Apr 23: Indian Oil Corporation’s director (refineries), B N Bankapur, promised to bring to the notice of the union petroleum ministry the demand of Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) to extend Refinery Point Pricing policy to the city.
He was speaking after accepting the honour extended by KCCI at the KCCI hall for city mayor, Pravin, and himself on Friday April 22. Relating to the demand of KCCI to set up LNG terminal in the city, he said this will not be possible, as a terminal is already coming up at Kochi.
City mayor, Pravin, said that the vented dam coming up at Tumbe will be completed in one and half years.
On this occasion, five small machines which help to check the thickness of plastic bags were handed over by KCCI to the city corporation as part of its community service programme. On behalf of KCCI, a memorandum was also handed over to the mayor, listing a number of demands. People present also raised questions about not providing minimum facilities at the SAS centre in the city corporation building for the tax payers, and about the demolition of bus shelters at the time of road expansion.
KCCI president, G G Mohandas Prabhu, vice president, Lata C Kini, Chandrakant Rao, and others were present on the dais.
