Benedict Martis (90), husband of Carmine Martis, brother of Sr Treesa Martis, FMM, father of Kevin / Jeneview, Mariadas / Janet, Fr Dr Praveen Martis SJ (Vice Chancellor, St Aloysius Deemed to be University, Mangalore) and Jeevan / Priya, grandfather of Claran / Joanne, Carol, Deeshan and Delisia, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024.

Funeral cortege leaves residence “Jeevan”, Arasikatte for St John the Evangelist Church, Shankarpura on Tuesday, October 22 at 3.15 pm. Mortal remains will kept for public viewing in the church premises from 3.30 pm to 4.00 pm, followed by Mass.

Bennab was a remarkable leader in our Pangla Parish, and I still cherish the memories of his leadership during my younger days. His calm, motivational words and dedication to every parish activity left a lasting impression on me. He served two terms as Vice President of the Parish Council and was a founding member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society in our parish. When I met him two years ago, he warmly remembered my name and even my brothers'. My deepest condolences to his family, and may his soul find eternal peace.
