Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 12: Dakshina Kannada on Monday, September 12, reported one new coronavirus cases while five cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,876, out of which 74 are currently active. As many as 14 patients were discharged on September 12.

No deaths were reported on September 12. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,860.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 0.51 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Five coronavirus cases were reported on September 12. The total active Covid cases are 46.

A total of 10,90,553 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,84,593 have received both doses and 2,62,283 people have received booster doses.
