Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 10: Dakshina Kannada on Saturday, September 10, reported 16 new coronavirus cases while ten cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,857, out of which 86 are currently active. As many as 21 patients were discharged on September 10.

Zero deaths were reported on September 10. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,859.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 1.59 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Ten coronavirus cases were reported on September 10. The total active Covid cases are 46.

A total of 10,90,532 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,84,549 have received both doses and 2,59,665 people have received booster doses.

Udupi and Kundapur added 2 cases while Karkala registered six cases each.
